"Dialling Guides" The "Dialling Guides" are intended to help make your dialling experience a pleasant one. You don't have to learn how to use software or spreadsheets and there is no mathematics involved. All you need is a pencil, paper and ruler. It's that simple! We plan to have a variety of "Dialling Guides" that are designed for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. They are easy to use and come complete with instructions. The first set of
"Dialling Guides" are for horizontal and vertical sundials.
There are 81 templates in all and provide design information for 486 sundials. You
also have the option of obtaining custom "Dialling Guides"
designed for your particular location.
The second set of "Dialling
Guides" are for polar sundials. There are 5 templates that
provide information for 102 single gnomon polar sundials and 8 templates
that provide information for a large number of a unique double gnomon
polar sundial.
The third set of "Dialling Guides" are for analemmatic sundials. However these sundials are sized to be used as "human sundials". There are 81 templates in all and provide design information for 324 sundials. You also have the option of obtaining custom "Dialling Guides" designed for your particular location.
The fourth set of "Dialling Guides" are for shadow plane sundials. These sundials are also sized to be used as interactive sundials. There are 81 templates in all and provide design information for 162 sundials. Not very many of these sundials exist so if you build one you will truly have a unique sundial.
The fifth set of "Dialling Guides" are for equatorial ring sundials. There are 4 templates available that provide information for 232 sundials ranging in size from 4 inches to 36 inches.
The sixth set of "Dialling Guides" are for vertical direct east and west sundials. These are created by modifying the polar sundial "Dialling Guides". There are 5 templates available that provide information for 204 sundials.
