Welcome to Sundials of the World!
What I would like to do in these pages is feature sundials designed and/or built by diallists from anywhere in the world. If you have a sundial and wish to share it with others but no way of doing this, consider having it located at this site. If you know someone who has built a sundial, please let this person know about this site. If you do have a web site I will link back to it.
All I require is a good quality photograph, preferably in electronic format, and as much detail as you can supply on its location, method and materials of construction and any other information that you feel others would be interested in knowing. Some information about you and your interest in sundials would be appreciated.
If you wish to mail the photograph, please contact me by e-mail with the details of your sundial and I will provide you with a mailing address.
Share your dial with others! I know that I would like to see it.
If you have come to visit and see the "Sundials of the World", I would like to welcome you. Also, think about this. A sundial, large or small, would make a unique and challenging project for you or your community. Check out the sundials at this site and see what others have done. You can do it too!
There's plenty of information available on the web to get you started. From the "LINKS" page you can access sites that have extensive sundial related links. From the "SUNDIAL" page you can enter the "Sundials" web ring and visit the sites of individuals and companies actively involved in dialling.
Your community library is also a great place to go for books about designing and constructing sundials.
If you need some help with the design and construction of your sundial visit the new Hooked on Gnomonics page:
Here you will find information covering many dialling topics with more coming.
